Ida Blue

Your mountain hideaway

Ida Blue lies at the heart of nature and history. It is located on Mount Ida, a place mentioned in Homer’s ancient mythical Iliad, where Olympian Gods gathered to watch the Epic Fight. Today, Ida Blue is creating its own piece of history.

Ida Blue is made up of three renovated antique stone houses, each with a living room and other rooms named after nine different herbs grown in the garden outside.

Once inside, you can enjoy refreshing tea and coffee from the in-house facilities, complimentary water and convenient room service Then, relax and enjoy your inclusive bathrobe, slippers and designer toiletries before requesting an evening turn down service complete with luxurious Godiva chocolates.

Four kilometres down the road is a beautiful beach where you can find your own personal space with sun loungers and umbrellas, or go trekking if you feel more active.

Stroll though history

The hotel is located in the medieval village of Adatepe, a charming maze of crooked, cobble-stoned narrow streets lined with shutter-fronted listed houses.

It’s easy to lose yourself in its tiny boutiques and quirky little restaurants. Surrounded by lush greenery and pencil-thin cypress trees, you will be forgiven for thinking you are somewhere in Tuscany.

Just a short distance from Ida Blue, you can find many of the most famous landmarks in ancient history. Experience The Altar of Zeus, Troy, Assos with the Temple of Athena, Pergamum… and a little further away, Ephesus. Then, hop across on a ferry to the Greek island of Lesbos and the Turkish Island of Bozcaada, with its sandy beaches, sumptuous seafood restaurants and wine tastings at sunset. Alternatively, visit Cunda island and take in its picturesque Greek Houses.

If you can, visit the area during the seasonal Olive Harvest period. But if you miss it, you can relive the event at the dedicated Olive Oil Museum.

A healthy body and mind

Mount Ida is lucky enough to enjoy truly spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Ida Blue can provide you with your own wicker hamper so you can sit outside and experience an unforgettable picnic (local charges apply) amongst the extensive variety of flora and fauna. Mount Ida is also known for its high oxygen levels.

Back inside the hotel, you’re in for more culinary treats. All ingredients are sourced locally: herbs from the garden, a delicious daily catch from the fishermen, meat and vegetables from the local markets. Indeed, the Ida Blue breakfast is one of the best around.

The property includes an a la carte restaurant, and Refika is a delightful eaterie just across from the building. After a day of historical sightseeing, it’s worth visiting even simply to sink your teeth into its signature ice cream, prepared with fresh milk and gum from Chios island.

Ida Blue’s nearest airport is Edremit, located a 45-minute drive away.
