If you prefer to walk, you should choose suitable shoes because the stones underwater will be very slippery.

Saklikent Gorge is unbelievably beautiful. Fethiye is unique with its wild nature, cliffs, narrow passages, exquisite clean water flowing from the Taurus Mountains.

Where is Butterfly Valley Located?
Butterfly Valley is located along the Mediterranean coast in the Turkey Fethiye district of Muğla.

Fethiye Turkey is located in the heart of the ancient city of Telmessos.
A Lycian legend explains where the name Telmessos came from.
The god Apollo falls in love with Agenor, the daughter of the Phoenician king. According to the legend, Apollo won the love of Agenor by disguising himself as a dog. Then, after turning into a handsome man, they have a son named Telmessos. (means the land of lights)
The ancient city Telmessos was abandoned due to the Arab-Byzantine wars. Later Telmessos passed under the control of the Turks in the 13th century.
Fethiye Museum, which has very rich new and ancient artefacts, witnesses all civilisations in the region, starting with the ancient Lycians.
The Tomb of Amyntas, built-in 350 BC, is also in Fethiye.

Xanthos is the capital of Lycia, the oldest republic and civilisation in the world. The theatre, agora and acropolis of the ancient city can still be seen. The city walls are still visible in the Hellenistic town square and belong to the 3rd century BC. These incredible city ruins are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
