Hazz Istanbul
From its foundation by the Emperor Constantine until the Turkish conquest in 1453 the city was known as Constantinople -
or Konstantinniye to merchants from the Arab and Turkic East. For centuries this was the greatest trading post in the world - and Hazz stands on the site of old Genoese colony of Galata, where Italian merchants traded gold and wool-cloth for silks and spices.
The Konstantiniyye room is inspired by that fusion, a dialogue between the styles of the Orient and renaissance Venice and Genoa. Its centerpiece is a stunningly carved bed from where you can gaze at a collection of hand-made copper lanterns overhead.
The open en-suite bathroom has an antique marble bathtub with a fountain shower.
